From Park Town to Central

Last Saturday night, I traveled in the MRTS for the first time. I took the train from Velachery to Park town. It was a nice travel which took just 30 minutes to land at the Park Town station. Everything was nice except that the train is little bit noisy than the Beach-TBM line. The person at the MRTS Ticket counter at velachery is pushing himself to speak only in English to me. On the contrary, I responded only in Tamil. I hate a Customer response person who talks in an alternative language than what Customer speaks.

I mostly saw only polluted water bodies, a lot of government housing boards and huts on the way to the Park Town. I feel I need to go in the train one more time during the day to have a good look at more of Chennai.

The best (worst) part came when I landed on the Park town station. The way out of the park town station is on the flyover that connects mount road with Poonamalli High (PH) road. I was guided by a co passenger to take this way. I am not sure whether there is any alternative to this. This way too had a pavement to walk down the flyover and a subway to cross the PH Raod to reach the central station. People on the contrary are walking on the middle of the road on the flyover and trying to cross the PH Road to reach central. It is literally no safety in the way people are crossing the road. It will for sure confuse the drivers coming towards Mount road from Central.

It will be good that the Chennai corporation takes proper action to make sure people take the regular way to reach the Central and vice versa. Proper fencing and lights can be made on the pavement down so that people are forced to use it.
