HDFC International Cards

Don’t ever use your HDFC Gold International card on an international currency. I don’t know why they levy a heavy charge of 3.5% on as currency conversion fee.

This is not done on the StanChart card.

When I called the customer care, they told that it is as per the policy. I don’t know why the hell then they call it an international card. It will be good if HDFC remove the name international from its Card.

Beware !!!

Not only HDFC, HSBC, Citibank also levies 3.5% as currency markup / conversion charges.
In the past 6 months, they have increased the currency conversion charges from 3 to 3.5%
If I am right, standard chartered also does the same. Better check with the bill and decide.

    Hey Boy !!!

I checked with the SCB Card statement before doing this post. I used it some three weeks back on the skype payment and at a hotel in US. There is no extra charges levied over it.

    Cheers - Ranjith.
