A Week in the Western World

I am coming to the western world for the second time. I landed into the country of USA last Sunday. Some of the stuffs I have seen as a good difference between India is :

  • You won’t get some water with your food by food. People prefer only soft drinks over food.
  • People work on time and are very punctual on Official conferences.
  • Most food served has some greens mixed with it.
  • Every food they call as small is of the kind what two people eat in India. A peg of scotch on the Rocks came with a double.
  • Every one you see greets you here. But I don’t see people moving closer on the longer run. You don’t say every one hello in India. But whoever you say you care for them atleast a little. India too is changing…
  • Every Taxi has a meter and they run by it.
  • It was so great to walk on the road with the wonderful weather, But there will be no one around you when you reach some point on the road. You can see only Cars flying.

Life is interesting here too in a different sense.

Ju’s Came Across #3

I am a follower of Rajesh Shetty who writes @ Life Beyond code. A couple of post were quite awesome.

One on what is the value of your help to some one as seen by you and as seen by the person. Read the complete post.

The image “http://blog.lifebeyondcode.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/value_of_help.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The second one is the value you add to your work as time goes on and the effort required to add value to your career. Read the complete post.

A Check on Y O U !!

Male Chauvinism is one of the interesting stuff to listen to between couples. Whenever the wife says that you should do this, the male will not do it. But will do it if he is not advised by the female counterpart.

I experienced a related behavior when I was on my way home last night. I was driving my bike and was hanging my dinner bag on my left side of the handle bar. Since the handle is of Butterfly type, the hand needs to be held on the handle without moving it to keep the bag against a fall. It was so inconvenient for me to drive a couple of KMs in that mode. But the usual way I drive is my hands put on the handle firmly.

When you are put on a check even for your normal behavior, it seems that your mind will tend to violate from the normal. I believe the female species in the world also will have the same kind of behavior when put on a Check.

Mistakes & Distance !!!

I was analysing some of the happenings around me with respect to the people around me and the mistakes we do. I segregate this into four categories.

Mistake is not a mistake - Person close to you makes a mistake. It will not be felt and it does not seem to be a mistake. This will be forgiven even if it affects you directly.

Mistake goes unnoticed - Person not so close to you makes a mistake. If it does not affect you directly, then the mistake is left with the saying, “These are normal things that happen in life”.

Mistake gets noticed - Person not close to you makes a mistake and that affects you. You get a little angrier and say, “You should have avoided doing that.”

Mistake is a Mistake - When a person you hate makes a mistake which does not affect you. You say, “I know about this guy, he is capable of doing all mistakes.”

Mistake is a problem - Person you hate makes a mistake and it affects you. You know what you will say or do.

Mistakes gets suppressed when the person move towards your inner circle.

What do you say ?
