I was to Vijaya Hospital, Vadapalani today morning for a blood donation. I had a low pressure today morning for some reasons. They even denied to recheck my blood pressure one more time to certify me to donate blood. But the interesting thing I noted on a booklet is the list to Dos and Don’ts to be followed after the donation.
Dos:
- Drink more liquids than normal for a few hours.
- Ead a good Meal.
- Raise your arm above head if it is bleeding at the extraction point.
- Resume Normal activity after 30 min.
- In case of any dizzyness keep your head at a lower position than rest of the body.
- remove the bandage after 8 hours.
Don’ts :
- Avoid Alcohol for the day.
- Avoid Smoke for next 30 min [ Atleast.]
- Stressful job for the rest of the day.
Very good points to be followed.
Cheers - Ranjith

Last wednesday[on the Independence day of India], we were out on a trip to Pazhaverkadu [ also called Pulicat Lake] a back water located at the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra. On our way to the place, the tyre went flat with a help of a screw on the road. We put on the spare tyre and were forced to stop by a small place [ Medhuvoor]. The Puncture Walla showed us the tyre which has been damaged for a length of around 5 inches. He told that he need to do so called big puncture and demanded Rs 150/= With no choice left behind, we need to go for it. Wow that was nice that we witnessed a old art of Vulcanizing.
He pasted a long tube along the 5 inches. and kept it to dry for some time. At this point of time I had no clue what this guy is going to do and Is this for what this guy demanded 150/=??? [ Ooops this guy is cheating four of us ??]

He pressed the tubes together well and then took to the bench press. where he placed a wood and above which the tube with the extra tube attached side up. He then placed a piece of paper over it and placed the upper part of the press and tightened it. He poured some Oil over the top side container. To my astonishment, He litered the top container. It went for some time and He repeated the process once again. The extra piece of glue got attached as an integral part of the main tyre.

The press used.

The process. - The paper plays a major roll here of segregating the tube and the metal of the top side container.
A wonderful experience and learning.

I have been working on Java and Advanced Java concepts for about six years from now.
How many of you remember that JAVA we use daily is a product of SUN Microsystem. Such a great technology company has made a profit and the best quarter in the fourth quarter of 2006-07 after it did in 2001 [ Man that is after 6 years]. Jonathan Schwartz, One of the greatest positive man writes in his blog on the story of the last quarter with a nice quote, “You think you can or you think you can’t - either way , You are right.”. Sunmicrosystem’s product java and advanced java has been the back bone for a lot of companies earning in billions. Java has made life of a developer and companies so easy to convert ideas to real things.
I thought of two things for SUN :
- Sun must have charged a couple of dollars or more for every jdk/jre bundled with a product as a royalty or some dollars for the installed services.
- Sun must have named its binary files as SunJcompile[javac] and SunJRun[java] for its binaries for every one to remember Sun with Java.
Appreciating SUN for providing such a strong programming language.

Life is a bed of Roses. Nope Life is a bed of thorns. Both rose and thorn comes out from the same rose plant. But it is YOU who fetch what from the rose/thorn plant.
Professional Life :
- Position/power
- Pay Cheque
Personal Life :
- possessions
- happiness
I have seen people comparing them with others on these four things. Why do you compare. God has not created all the five fingers in hand the same. Everybody’s life has a purpose on earth. God has created each and every one with an unique character and with an unique purpose. Do your duty and God knows when he has to unveil the treasure to you. The following quote is a nice one that explains your bond to God.
“If God answers your prayer, He is increasing your faith; if He delays, He is increasing your Patience. If He doesn’t answer, He knows you can handle the situation”
ps:- if you are not a believer of God, read it as a super power beyond you.
