Lovely Quotes to live by !!!

These are lovely quotes from Sri Sri Ravi shankar. He is the founder of the international Art of Living Foundation. I have experienced most of the quotes seen below.

2.When you feel hopeless and worse, ask people what can i do for you. That service you do will bring a revolution in you.

3.Just singing is not sufficient. In between the song, some moments of silence, depth and experiencing of the infinite is essential.

4. Your mind is being churned by so many new things events and happenings. And finally, the butter comes ..it is the SAINTHOOD IN YOU.

5. Whatever you love, from that source you get hurt, have you observed this? You are hurt by only those whom you love.

6. Eat food with a sense of offering, neither in a hurry nor with violence.

7. In the company of one who is living love, you cannot but spring back to love.

8. Some one experiences bliss and that becomes a trip for the ego…so the ego in turn destroys the joy and the bliss..

9.Faith brings totality in you.It pulls together the loose ends of your consciuous ness.Doubt scatters and destroys you

10.If you see people doing sinful thins, educate and ignore them, we educate them out of compassion and then ignore it.

Cheaper Laptops on the Way - Hats off to Indian Engineers!!

One Laptop per Child [OLPC]  is a project run by a non-profit organization in Delware, US for the creation of Laptop for $100. This is around 8 to 10 times cheaper than the current price. This project is mostly aimed at creation of minimized laptops for usage in schools across the world. This will be mostly out by the year 2008. When this is released, they also feel that the powerful official usage laptops will come down to $500. There are a lot of companies and countries taking part in this project with an objective to empower children. The softwares to be used are mostly OpenSource once and some free stuffs donated by different organizations.

I was little unhappy when India’s name is not in the list of countries sponsoring it. But was quite happy when I read the wiki completely.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry of India has rejected Nicholas Negroponte’s offer of $100 laptops for schoolchildren. The Ministry is planning to make laptops at $10 for schoolchildren. The two designs submitted to the ministry from a final year engineering student of Vellore Institute of Technology and a researcher from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; have come to an estimated production cost of $47 per laptop, but they expect the price to become lower when volumes rise. No technical specifications have been released.

Hats off to the Guys of VIT and IISE.

Dudeism - Just be a dude !!!

We use to call our friends and coleaugue as “Hey Dude..!” in a very casual way. But this is a different dude. I wrote about Slowdown and Enjoy some time back. Yes this is a religion that non-preaches the slowness of life. Some explanation given about Dudeism
The idea is this: Life is short and
complicated and nobody knows what to do about it. So don’t do anything
about it. Just take it easy, man. Stop worrying so much whether you’ll
make it into the finals. Kick back with some friends and some oat soda
and whether you roll strikes or gutters, do your best to be true to
yourself and others - that is to say, abide.

As time moves, it is becoming interesting to slown down on some of things like driving, walking, etc. These things really provide us time to look around for both beautiful and real things happening in life.

Slow down your pace you will have more time to enjoy.

Bangalore - Some thoughts !!!!

We were there in Bangalore last week on a personal visit. I didn’t do much in a 24 hours stay there except a party @ lemon grass on Saturday evening and a small visit to Forum Mall sometime at Sunday noon. The drive up and down from chennai to Bangalore was awesome due to the day time travel along one of the roads of the Golden_Quadrilateral surrounded by the hills. The little dark clouds on the skies added much more beauty to the drive. It will be nice if you happen to drive some time between 2 pm to 7 pm along this route towards bangalore.

Some of my perceptions :

  • The weather is so nice to live with.
  • The water resources are great.
  • The costs are little high when compared to Chennai. You have to get a couple of extra Ls to manage in Bangalore.
  • The traffic in the City is so horrible with lot of one ways and the traffic is much slow when compared to Chennai. Chennai has a pretty fast moving traffic on all the roads.
  • The life shows to be much modern than Chennai.
